This module is monitoring the pressures of the cooling water cycle in the lab O328. It measures the pressure in the flow line (german: “Vorlauf”, VL) and the return line (german: “Rücklauf”, RL) and calculates the difference.

If the return line pressure falls below 0.6 bar, the Apaco station will shut down. To avoid this situation, a warning message is sent to techalarm-phys@unibas.ch by email if the RL is lower than 1.1 bar. From this email account, the email is forwarded to the responsible staff.

If the flow line pressure (VL) drops below 1.6 bar, the pump could have failed. A warning message is sent to techalarm-phys@unibas.ch by email and forwarded to the responsible staff.

If the RL pressure keeps dropping below 0.9 bar, both an acoustic and an optical alarm will be triggered. The alarm can be silenced for an interval of 60 minutes. The same action will take effect if the pressure difference goes below or above its limits. An alarm message is sent to techalarm-phys@unibas.ch by email and forwarded to the responsible staff.

  • Trigger delay time         = 10 sec
  • ReAlarm time                = 60 min
